Dell drivers only work with the specific machine they were supplied with. Not even other Dell models.

Several answers, none were 100% correct. For one thing, the drivers are for a specific chipset. It is unlikely, but possible that two computers have that same chipset, even if they are different models or brands.
It is also possible that the same model and brand of comptuer has multiple choices of chipsets. In that case, the driver is supplied based on the serial number of the machine s the manufacturer knows which chipset was used. This is because some models change motherboards, or perhaps just chipsets, through the model run.
That is why the correct answer is maybe, but very probably not. It is possible that you would get a generic enough driver from one machine to work on the same model of chipset on another machine.
It is somewhat unlikely, but I have actually done it sucessfully. It is more often sucessful if you get a generic driver for that chipset from the chipset’s manufacturer.
It is highly recommended that you don’t try it, unless you are willing to go as far as reloading Windows to fix it. It is unlikely you would have to do that, but be prepaired.
